Under the Sea Minis (rsp: £1.50/six packs) are exclusive to Asda

Party Rings has unveiled its first new biscuit shape in its 42-year history.

Under the Sea Minis (rsp: £1.50/6x21g) feature Party Rings’ “much-loved” iced shortcake biscuit recipe, but in “fun, fish shapes”. The NPD will launch exclusively into Asda on 24 April for 12 weeks.

The NPD, which was designed to appeal to the family shopper and boost basket spend, had required “considerable investment into new kit” and was the first in a pipeline of shaped biscuit innovation for the brand, said Party Rings owner Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC).

“Under the Sea Minis is an exciting milestone for the Party Rings brand,” said FBC head of category insight Robin Norton.

”In initial testing, the products performed incredibly well with consumers, outperforming industry standards by 24%, so we’re confident they will be a hit when they land on shelves later this month,” Norton added [Toluna Party Rings Concept Screen June 2024].

It comes after FBC unveiled a limited-edition Strawberry (rsp: 90p/125g) spin-off for Party Rings last month, designed to “engage and excite existing customers as well as bring in new users”.

The manufacturer also unveiled a “playful” redesign, intended to improve “standout“ on shelf. The new-look packs will roll out across all flavours and formats by May.
