Tesco has recalled one of its free-from Christmas cupcake lines over allergen fears.

The product in question, 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes 220g, may contain milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

All best before dates up to and including 17 January 2026 are impacted.

In a point of sale notice, Tesco has urged those who have purchased the product and who have an allergy or intolerence to milk or milk constituents not to eat it. Instead, they should return it to any Tesco for a full refund. No receipt is required.

For further enquiries, they should visit the contact page of Tesco’s website.

“No other Tesco products are affected by this recall,” stated the point of sale notice. “We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

The FSA has advised Tesco to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

This isn’t the first seasonal line to have been recalled by a retailer ahead of Christmas.

Earlier this month, Tesco recalled 6 Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns 258g as it was found to contain undeclared milk.

Meanwhile, Aldi recalled Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks 90g over fears they contained undeclared peanuts.
