Independent cidermaker Westons has announced a shake-up of its senior leadership team, following the retirement of its business development manager Darryl Hinksman.
Hinksman retired at the end of last month, bringing a 45-year career in the drinks industry to a close. He joined Westons in 2016 following stints at Heineken, Purity Brewery and Westons Australia.
“Since joining Westons in 2016, Darryl has played a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the business,” said Westons MD Helen Thomas. “His sharp commercial mind, calm pragmatism, deep understanding of the numbers, and unwavering support for his teams have made him an exceptional leader, earning the respect and appreciation of colleagues across the industry.”
Following Hinksman’s retirement, Westons has promoted its business improvement manager Tim Williams to the role of head of supply chain.
“Tim brings significant experience from over 10 years working across the business, including his time as brand manager for Henry Westons,” said Thomas. “In his new role, he will oversee both purchasing and supply chain functions, while supporting the business strategically as a member of the leadership team.”
Additionally, Westons has hired Phil Haskew to be its head of logistics.
“Phil will lead both distribution and warehousing functions and will also support Westons strategically,” said Thomas. “he brings a wealth of experience in logistics from across the fmcg and manufacturing.”
Revenues at Westons, based in the village of Much Marcle, southwest of Hereford, climbed 12% to £105.2m in the year to 31 March 2024.
The supplier is yet to file accounts for the year to 31 March 2025, but was expecting to report revenue growth of 6% to £111.5m, Hinksman told The Grocer in October.
