The DTC site would ‘fill a clear gap in the market’, its founders said.

The team behind low & no alcohol retailer Wise Bartender has launched a new webstore dedicated to mid-strength drinks.

Mid Strength Drinks – which goes live today (22 October) – would “offer a curated range of more than 30 products spanning beer, cider and wine, all sitting within the mid abv space,” said its founders.

The platform would aim to “fill a clear gap in the market” for the 55% of consumers who were “eager to explore mid-strength drinks as an alternative to full-strength alcohol”, they said, citing KAM research.

Brands to have launched on the platform so far include Future Château, Twenty Light Spirits and The Gentle Wine.

To celebrate the launch of the site, the first 50 customers will receive a complimentary bottle of The Gentle Wine 6% Rosé with their order.

“At Wise Bartender, we’ve seen how quickly the low & no alcohol category has evolved but there’s still a huge group of consumers who aren’t looking to give up alcohol entirely, they just want to drink smarter,” said Wise Bartender and Mid Strength Drinks founder Tom Ward.

He added: “Mid-strength drinks are about giving clarity to a space that’s often confusing and showcasing brilliant products and producers who are crafting drinks with balance, flavour and moderation in mind.”
