Yorkshire Tea has expanded its Proper Breaks range with two new cake-inspired brews.
Victoria Sponge Brew and Sticky Toffee Brew have landed in Morrisons stores ahead of a wider grocery rollout later this year (rsp: £2.49/40 bags).
Victoria Sponge was a “proper brew with an irresistible vanilla-y, jammy twist”, according to Yorkshire Tea. Sticky Toffee, meanwhile, was “a nod to the nation’s favourite pud with all its sweet richness”.
The duo join Malty Biscuit Brew and Cherry Bakewell Brew in Yorkshire’s Proper Breaks range of teas, inspired by Brits’ favourite sweet treats.
“Our Proper Breaks range is all about appealing to new and different audiences and it gives us space to innovate and play with flavour,” said Penny Webster, brand manager at Yorkshire Tea. “We know people want something a little bit different to break up their day and feel like they’ve had a bit of a treat, and we think these really hit the mark!”
Explaining the inspiration behind the brews, Kate Halloran, tea development manager at Yorkshire Tea, said: “Victoria Sponge Brew was one of the early ideas we had when Biscuit Brew was first created. I have wanted to bring it to life ever since and make sure all of the elements came through; the jam, the vanilla sponge and the taste of icing sugar as you take that first bite, or sip.
“Sticky Toffee Brew was inspired by Sunday dinners in the pub that finish with sticky toffee pudding and custard or ice cream (or both). That bit at the end, when it’s a glorious mix of custard-soaked sponge, toffee and melted ice cream, was something I wanted to recreate in Yorkshire Tea form.”
Yorkshire Tea is the UK’s number one brew by value and volume. Last year, the brand grew sales by £20.8m to £192.6m, but volume growth slowed to just 1.5% [NIQ 52 we 27 December 2025].
