The kiosks are new collection points in Amazon’s Treasure Truck programme

Amazon has launched pop-up retail kiosks in London railway stations to sell products ranging from food and drink to technology and entertainment.

The kiosks are new collection points in Amazon’s Treasure Truck service and have arrived in Charing Cross, Paddington, King’s Cross, Liverpool Street and London Bridge.

Launched in 2017, Treasure Trucks sell a single product at a time. Customers sign up for text alerts about when a truck will be in their area and what is on offer.

Payment is made in Amazon’s app, where users also select a pickup point from a list of the trucks’ locations.

As of this week, ‘kiosk pickup’ points in the five stations have been added to the list of London locations.

The product currently offered is Marvel’s Spider-Man game for Playstation 4. Treasure Truck food offers have previously included sirloin steaks and beef & bone marrow burgers from upmarket meat delivery box company Field & Flower.

As well as London, Treasure Trucks serve Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, York, Coventry, Southampton, Portsmouth, Reading, Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor.

Earlier this week, Amazon announced separate plans to open 10 pop-up ‘Clicks and Mortar’ stores across the UK, in which 100 of its third-party online sellers would offer products including food and drink.
