An online lunch delivery service focusing on sustainability and healthier food for office workers is pitching for £120k in a crowdfunding campaign to enable national expansion.

Leeds-based Lean Lunch offers chef-made, locally sourced meals in recycled and compostable packaging to city workers by cargo cycle. The company caters for individuals, events or whole companies, and claims its meals are nutritionally balanced and low in salt.

Lean Lunch claims to have made over 40,000 meals since its 2017 launch and doubled production to 10,530 in quarter one of this year compared to last. Revenue rose 380% to £34k between quarters one in 2017 and 2019. Turnover in 2019 is “on course” to be double 2018’s £108k.

The company is offering 11.32% equity for the £120k target, with a pre-money valuation of £940k. It has so far raised 45% of the target with 19 days to go.
