Innis & Gunn UK sales director Crawford Sinclair

Scottish craft brewer has added three directors to its board following the completion of its minority sale to global private equity house L Catterton last month.

The business has given current UK sales director Crawford Sinclair to its executive team, alongside Jean-Philippe Barade and Caroline Folleas from L Catterton.

Sinclair has almost 20 years’ experience in the beer industry in a number of senior on- and off-trade roles.

He joined Innis & Gunn in 2010 to establish a new UK sales function and contributed to the launch of Innis & Gunn Lager, which in three years has become the number one craft brand in Scotland.

Crawford will continue to lead the UK sales team.

Innis & Gunn has also appointed two new directors from L Catterton. Jean-Philippe Barade is a partner and head of the London office of the consumer focused firm, and Caroline Folleas is an investment director.

“It goes without saying that I am absolutely delighted to join the board of Innis & Gunn,” Crawford said.

“Our ambition to grow the business is hugely exciting and my goals are to strengthen our position in the UK market by building Innis & Gunn Lager into the number one premium lager brand in Scottish on-trade. [I also want to] leverage our unique portfolio of beers, backed up with excellent customer service and a brilliant team of people, to build distribution and sales across the UK.”

Chairman Tony Hunt added: “Jean-Philippe and Caroline bring to our board L Catterton’s enormous experience of successfully building consumer brands in the UK and overseas. Their expertise will help us to accelerate the growth of the brand internationally.”

Shareholders at Innis & Gunn approved the £15m sale of a near 30% to L Catterton in September.
