A new line of premium sausages from Peter's Food Service has been launched into Tesco's Welsh stores.
The pork and pork and leek sausages, which are sold in 454g packs of six, are packaged and sealed in a plastic tray and covered with a cardboard sleeve adorned with the Peter's 'Passion for Food' strapline.
"The new sausages give consumers the best of both worlds - a quality sausage at a good price," said Peter's Food technical director David Jackson.
"Our customers are becoming more aware of meat quality issues and are prepared to pay a little more for a higher quality product."
Peter's, which is based in Bedwas, Caerphilly, already supplies a number of meat products to Tesco stores in Wales.
Earlier this year the company also announced a major new contract to supply Asda with 250,000 savoury pasties each week.
Last October Peter's was acquired by its management and NBGI Private Equity in a £20m buy-out.
