The coconut-based cream alternative will be available nationwide from November in Tesco, Waitrose and Whole Foods Market

The Coconut Collab has announced the launch of a plant-based alternative to brandy cream ahead of the festive season.

Described as the first product of its kind to hit the market, the brand’s Br&ndy Cre&m will be available nationwide from November in Tesco, Waitrose and Whole Foods Market.

The product is made using water, coconut oil, corn fibre, potato starch and sugar predominantly alongside emulsifiers, flavourings and preservatives.

The product (rsp: £1.75/220ml) is described as being “thick, creamy and with a mild dairy-like taste”. It can be poured over a Christmas pudding or whipped like dairy double cream.

“Off the back of a huge success from our Double Cre&m this summer, we saw an opportunity to innovate into a festive favourite for the winter season,” said James Averdieck, founder and MD.

Like the brand’s Double Cre&m, launched in June, the product is 100% plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free, alcohol-free, palm-oil free and soya-free.

“We know Christmas is a special occasion where family, friends and food are integral, and so we wanted to create a delicious product that everyone around the table could enjoy, no matter their dietary or lifestyle choices,” added Averdieck. “I honestly don’t think you’ll believe this is made from the humble plant!”
