Scottish convenience store group David Sands is switching its supply deal from Nisa to Spar.
The move means its four stores, including Pinkie Farm in Musselburgh, will be supplied by wholesaler CJ Lang once they move over to the Spar fascia on a “phased basis”. It said the new partnership would allow it to access a wider range of products.
“We spent a long time debating on our next relationship,” said David Sands CEO David Sands. “We visited CJ Lang’s depot in Dundee, several Spar stores, met the team and saw the newly refurbished Spar Market store in Crosshouse.
“We have been extremely impressed with the proposition Spar Scotland has to offer,” he added. “The team understands what our customers want and how we want to make sure we deliver on their needs. The customer is at the heart of what we do and it’s great to see that Spar Scotland shares these same values.”
CJ Lang CEO Colin McLean said: “Over the past four years our business has changed dramatically, and we are now attracting the very best Scottish retailers to join Spar Scotland because of our competitive wholesale package.

David Sands also includes its David’s Kitchen brand, which launched in 2013 and combines retailing and foodservice.
