Fine food distributor RH Amar has partnered with private brand specialist Daymon with an eye to growing its presence in the own label sector.

The partnership would focus on developing “innovative product concepts for retailers guided by market dynamics and trends, concept setting and concept validation through consumer research”, said RH Amar.

Daymon will focus on innovation and concept development, while RH Amar will handle commercial execution. 

RH Amar MD Rob Amar said the partnership would “allow retailers to benefit from a single point of contact for their private brand development”, enabling them to “strengthen [their] current assortments while ensuring their private brands stay competitive”.

A Daymon spokesman said the next wave of private brands would be “led by diversification and premiumisation” and “positioned with options that are lacking in the existing offerings”.
