health and beauty distributor DCS Europe is hoping to boost sales by more than 55% to £200m by 2015.

The company currently generates annual sales of £128m and has seen group sales rise 14% in the year to date. In the wholesaler’s high street discount division, sales have leapt 47% to £8m this year after DCS provided in-store displays for jubilee packs of Fairy Liquid and an olympic display for Procter & Gamble brands.

DCS Manufacturing sales were up 30% year-on-year to £644,000 in May and have risen 17% in the year to date following large orders from Australia and South Africa for its Enliven brand.

The first production run of Union Jack-branded Enliven body spray, shower gel and hair gel sold out in three weeks and the company is now on a second run.

“We have proved you can make products in Britain and be competitive,” owner Denys Shortt said. “My aim has always been to reduce the carbon footprint of health & beauty products - it has always seemed crazy to ship toiletries in when we can make them ourselves.”
