Lloyds Pharmacy has extended its partnership with Deliveroo to offer delivery from a total of 150 stores across the UK.

Lloyds Pharmacy was among the first non-food takeaway retailers to partner with the courier platform, to offer fast delivery of pharmacy essentials including cold and flu relief, painkillers and pregnancy tests from an initial 16 stores at the height of the pandemic in summer 2020.

The move marked “a step change in the evolution of pharmacy” Lloyds Pharmacy then CEO Toby Anderson said at the time.

The partnership has since expanded to 40 stores, but the latest deal will add a further 110 locations over the coming months.

“Although Lloyds Pharmacy patients can order online for next day delivery, through our extended partnership with Deliveroo, more patients across the UK can access the care supplies they need in just 30 minutes,” said Kevin Birch, chief retail officer at LloydsPharmacy.

“We’re committed to improving patient care, giving them greater choice and control as to how, where, and when they access care and medicines,” he added. “The extension of our partnership with Deliveroo plays an important role in that mission.”

A range of Lloyds Pharmacy’s 50 bestselling products are available to purchase via the Deliveroo app.

Deliveroo revealed the most ordered items from Lloyds Pharmacy are: cold and flu relief, over-the-counter painkillers, tissues, sore throat lozenges, digestive relief and at-home pregnancy tests.

“Lloyds Pharmacy has provided a vital service throughout the pandemic and ordering from Deliveroo meant people who were self-isolating could have medication delivered to their doors in as little as 30 minutes,” said Carlo Mocci, chief business officer UK&I, Deliveroo.

“This partnership has already helped thousands of families and households and we’re looking forward to riding to the rescue of cold, headache and sore throat sufferers across the UK,” he added.
