More than 33,000 people have signed up to become members of The Co-operative Group since its relaunch six weeks ago. The group is owned by its approximately two million members.
Scheme shortlisted
Somerfield's home delivery driver training programme has been shortlisted for a National Training Award by the Department for Education and Skills. The programme helped the retailer save £126,000 a year in insurance premiums.
Nutrition group
The Food Standards Agency and the Department of Health have established a Nutrition Strategy Steering Group. It is jointly chaired by public health minister Caroline Flint and FSA chair Deirdre Hutton.
