More UK consumers are eating out, which could spell the end of home meals, a Datamonitor report has revealed.

The report found that UK consumers spend on average £1,224 a year on eating and drinking out.

It estimates that this figure could increase to £1,335 by 2010, with 5.2 billion extra meals expected to be eaten outside the home by 2010.
