Nisa has launched a new wholesale service for fresh fruit & veg, which allows members to buy larger quantities of loose produce.

The initiative, which launched last month, has increased fresh produce sales by 17% and prompted 65 members to buy fresh produce centrally from Nisa when they had previously shopped elsewhere.

The service aims to attract sales from members who shop at markets and wholesalers to buy competitively priced loose produce in bulk.

“We’ve been in a period of turnaround, which is challenging, but it’s a testament to the hard work of the team at Nisa’s member support centre and of our desire to deliver the best deals we can to our members, that we have been able to roll out this wholesale fresh produce service,” said Nisa trading director Stewart Smith.

“The intention is to give our members a convenient and efficient way to purchase fresh produce, ordered online and delivered to their door, which offer sector-leading prices and a healthy profit margin, enabling them to perform competitively in a marketplace where the discounters and multiples are chasing the lowest price.”
