The London Crisp Company has returned to the crowd for another £100,000 after winning listings in Tesco, Waitrose and Asda.

The snack brand, launched by Awfully Posh pork crackling founder Tom Lock, raised £118,000 on Seedrs in July 2015 to drive rapid expansion. It has since ousted Tyrrells from Fuller’s London pubs, won listings in Tesco across the capital, launched 150g sharing bags in Waitrose and Asda and is exporting to the Middle East.

A range of popcorn under sister brand The London Popcorn Co is also set for launch. The new Seedrs campaign will give away a 2.8% stake and values the company at £3.5m.

Plans for the money include a multimedia marketing campaign to raise awareness and expanding the sales team to focus on convenience stores and food-to-go outlets.

“Since the last campaign we have gone from strength to strength and we’ve come back to back to Seedrs to do another round of funding to really drive the business to the next level,” Lock said.

Head of sales Gary Mesiano added that the business was finalising a deal with Hilton Hotels to stock The London Crisp brand nationwide in its bars.
