Off-licence chain Bargain Booze has promoted Tim Stanley to joint managing director alongside Matthew Hughes.
Stanley moves from his post as buying director which he assumed in November (The Grocer, November 8, p15) when Hughes became MD.
Joint MDs Allan Whittle and Rob Mayor stepped down at that time to become non-executive directors of the company.
Hughes said: “Bargain Booze has reviewed the company structure and seen that the ethos engendered through Allan’s and Robert’s hard work was facilitated by their joint MD roles. This is an arrangement that has always worked and if it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it.” Stanley has 10 years’ experience in procurement at Bargain Booze. He has retained responsibility for buying and taken a bigger role in the marketing and development of the company.
