Bestway has launched a loyalty rewards programme for best-one retailers, the first of its kind for the wholesaler.

The programme, ‘My Rewards’, which is designed to reward purchase loyalty, will give best-one retailers up to 5% monthly rebates on purchases through Bestway and Batleys.

It is open to retailers with monthly sales of more than £15,000 a month and offers tiered cashback of between 1.5% to 5% for retailers who comply with a number of loyalty conditions.

“We know that My Rewards delivers sector-leading rebates to stores but it is more than just giving retailers a kickback for increased sales”, said Bestway director of symbol retailing James Hall.

“It’s all about helping them become greater retail professionals, allowing them the opportunity to compete profitably in the increasingly competitive c-store sector.”

In order to be eligible for rebate payments, retailers must commit to stocking a minimum of 30 core own-label lines, spending £250 a month on central delivered fresh, chilled and frozen foods, using the group’s drop shipment suppliers for delivered bread and food-to-go purchases and sharing EPoS data when required. They must also hit a minimum score of 75% promotional compliance.

“My Rewards will repay the great work that our best-one retailers are doing currently within their communities, build loyalty to the best-one brand among our estate and entice other retailers to come and have a look at the best-one concepts,” Hall added.

Bestway said it has added £154m of new business to the company in the past year, with sales up 0.7% in the year to June 2013. Sales were up 4.2% in the quarter ending September 2013.
