We’ve been looking forward to this one. How will Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone shape up in a Warburtons ad?
Well, he’s as tough as you’d hope, and funnier than you’d expect. In it, Sly tells Warbies boss Jonathan Warburton about a film idea: ‘The Deliverer’. Stallone plans to play a bread-running hero who makes sure stores get their freshly baked loaves every morning (playing up a hitherto-unappreciated element of Warburtons).
He also gets to have fun – the proposed film is packed with Rocky references, with the incongruity of the Bolton location getting the most laughs. Stallone brilliantly sends himself up, delivering lines like “time to earn my crust” with as much relish as he does the bread.
It’s a knockout.
