A month after the launch of Häagen-Dazs’ gooey liquid centre mini pot range, rival Ben & Jerry’s has unveiled its own soft-centred offering.

Ben and Jerry’s Core launches this month in three flavours: Karamel Sutra, Dough-ble Whammy and Berry White (rsp: £4.99). Each 500ml tub has a soft core of chocolate truffle, chocolate fudge or caramel sauce encased by two flavours of ice creams.

Ben & Jerry’s said the launch represented a “unique innovation” in the UK market thanks to patented technology - as did Häagen-Dazs when it launched its liquid centre Secret Sensation tubs last month.

Core will go into Tesco before launching more widely later this month.
