Anthony Fry, the senior managing director of Evercore Partners, has been appointed deputy chairman of Dairy Crest. Fry will take over from Simon Oliver as chairman on 1 January 2010 when Oliver retires from the board to take on the position of honorary group president. Andrew Carr-Locke has been appointed as a non-executive director.

Midlands Co-operative Society has named Stephen Beresford as PR and marketing manager. Beresford, who joins from Coventry University Enterprises, will be responsible for managing internal and external communications in his new role.

Juice company Frobishers has named Steve Carter as sales and marketing director. Carter was previously managing director of licensed trade accountants and business consultants Milestone. He will help build the Frobishers brand in his new role.

Drinks giant Pernod Ricard has promoted communications vice-president Francisco de la Vega to managing director of Pernod Ricard Swiss. Olivier Cavil, currently communications director of GH Mumm & Perrier-Jouët, replaces him.

The Real Bread Campaign has appointed Chris Young as project officer. Young, who has worked on a volunteer basis for the campaign since March this year, will co-ordinate the national activities of the Real Bread Campaign.

Ed Penny has joined U'Luvka Vodka as sales and marketing director. He has previously worked for MHUK, Aliied Domecq and Pernod Ricard.

Highgrove Fine Foods has appointed chef Mike Robinson to help promote its range of speciality fats. Robinson is a presenter on UKTV Food and has two restaurants, The Pot Kiln and Harwood Arms. He will be featured on the online Goose Fat Information Service and will also act as a spokesman.

National Farmers' Union horticulture adviser Kelly Watson is switching her area of responsibility from potatoes and field vegetables to the union's poultry team. Watson had been covering for Laura Drew, who is currently taking maternity leave.
