The product will go on sale on 12 October and is made from cows milk and sustainably sourced algal oil – a marine algae-based fish oil substitute

Kendamil is gearing up to launch what it claims is the first follow-on formula in the UK to contain no palm or fish oil.

Ready to Feed is made from cows milk and a mix of omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA, Kendamil said. And unlike other leading formula brands, it contained sustainably sourced algal oil – a marine algae-based fish oil substitute, it claimed.

The formula has a 12-month shelf life and launches on the brand’s website on 12 October. (rsp: £23.95/24-bottle pack).

“Parents associate Kendamil with quality and sustainability, so have long asked us to develop a ‘ready to feed’ offering,” said Kendamil CEO and founder Ross McMahon.

Kendamil sources its milk in the UK and is supplied by 220 Lake District farms.

In April, the brand secured a national listing to supply 545 Tesco stores, meaning its products are now sold across the big four, Waitrose, as well as Boots and Ocado online.
