Kerry Group, the company behind Wall's sausages, Mattessons and Cheestrings, has acquired Irish food company Breeo Foods for E165m (£126m).
Breeo Foods makes a number of dairy and meat brands sold in Ireland including Dairygold, Galtee and Shaws. It has sales of E188.5m (£144.3m) and a profit of E15.1m (£11.5m).
The acquisition also includes Breeo's chilled foods distribution service which Kerry Foods said would complement its own distribution network and chilled foods branded offering in Ireland.
