The new cans will hit the brand’s webshop from 13 September, followed by a wider retail rollout in November

Alcohol-free pioneer Lucky Saint is pouring its beer into 330ml cans.

The brewer is adding the format to its roster in a bid to broaden its reach in convenience stores and other off-trade retailers.

Its new cans will hit the brand’s webshop from 13 September, followed by a wider retail rollout in November (rsp: £25/12x330ml).

With lockdown restrictions now lifted, the new cans would “give consumers an additional and more transportable option that can be enjoyed at social occasions such as being in the park with friends or camping”, said the brand.

The move came at “at a significant time for Lucky Saint and the no & low category, with a recent Club Soda survey demonstrating that an estimated 49% of UK adults don’t drink alcohol or have plans to cut down”, it added. The data also suggested 24.5% of people would rather choose a “good alcohol-free beer” over a soft drink.

“We wanted to make sure we met consumer demand for high-quality alcohol-free options for all occasions, whether this is enjoyment at home, in the pub or in the park with friends”, said the brand’s founder Luke Boase, adding the cans were “the next logical step for us as a business”.
