Aero has rolled out a limited run of “bubble-less” chocolate bars and is offering cash prizes of £10k to shoppers who find them.
According to Aero, the rare packs weigh and feel the same as standard bars, so shoppers will have to open them to find out if they have a winning tablet.
Shoppers who unwrap a standard Aero will also be in with a chance of winning £100 in a daily prize draw, by registering their purchase on the brand’s website.
Aero has issued a faux “urgent notice” to publicise the promotion, along with spoof CCTV footage “showing the bubbles making their escape” from Nestlé’s York factory.
“If anyone finds a bubble-less pack, please reach out to us right away, and don’t forget to keep your receipt and winning insert,” said Aero senior brand manager Emily Lord.
The promotion is likely to boost unit sales for Aero, which last year sold 8.2 million fewer packs through the tills [NIQ 52 w/e 31 December 2024].
Despite the volume declines, higher prices helped the Nestlé-owned chocolate brand keep its value flat (up 0.6%) at £113.2m, according to NIQ.
It came after Aero rolled out two 90g sharing bars, Choco Hazelnut and Strawberry in 2024, also adding 145g and 295g formats for Peppermint.
