Aldi also offers sector-leading pay rates

Aldi has said it will create more than 1,100 new jobs this year as part of its UK expansion programme.

The jobs will come through previously announced plans to open about 40 new UK stores in 2026 in a £370m investment.

Both full and part-time roles will be available, from store assistants and cleaners to store managers on salaries of up to £69,000.

Aldi is the UK’s highest-paying supermarket based on its entry-level hourly rate, which from 1 April will be £13.50 nationally and £14.88 within the M25. It is also one of the few remaining retailers to offer paid breaks.

“We want to encourage more people across the UK to consider a career in retail, starting with high-quality training and development that gives people the skills and confidence to succeed,” said Aldi UK recruitment director Kelly Stokes.

“As we open more stores, we’re creating more opportunities for people to start to build rewarding careers with Aldi. With market-leading pay, clear progression routes and ongoing support, we’re helping more people grow in retail while bringing Aldi’s award-winning, affordable products to more local communities.”
