Costa Coffee is introducing new Protein Lattes to tap the growing high-protein trend.

The range features a new High Protein Latte and a High Protein Iced Latte made using the coffee giant’s Mocha Italia taste and semi-skimmed milk.

Each product contains 23g of protein and is available hot or iced. Currently available as part of a trial in selected stores, the Protein Lattes can also be customised with a choice of syrups.

Costa is also launching a new scone bundle featuring an All Butter Sultana Scone served with Bonne Maman Strawberry Conserve and Cornish Dairy Co Clotted Cream, and a small or medium drink. It will be available between 11am and 5pm in selected stores nationwide.

“Summer is made up of those small, everyday moments – from a quick coffee between meetings to connecting with friends,” said Costa Coffee global food and beverage director Nishant Bhatia.

“That’s why Costa Coffee’s summer menu is all about offering refreshing choices, like our new high-protein lattes, alongside comforting classics such as our scone bundle. It’s about enjoying those little moments wherever you are.”

The launch comes after Starbucks brought its Protein Cold Foam to the UK for the first time in April, alongside the launch of a trio of new protein beverages.

Following “standout success” in the US, the Protein Cold Foam provides 15g of added protein to any drink, “without compromising on taste or texture”, Starbucks said at the time.
