The Mini Meals range will launch in 450 Tesco stores from 15 July

Fit Foods has unveiled Mini Meals, a ready meal range designed to meet growing demand for smaller portions amid the increasing use of GLP-1 drugs.

The lineup comprises Beef, Mash & Pepper Sauce 280g; Chicken Carbonara 250g; Parmigiana Chicken & Garlic Potatoes 280g; Pasta Bolognese 250g; and Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni 280g. The high-fibre and high-protein meals will roll into 450 Tesco stores from tomorrow (15 July), each with an rsp of £3.50.

The UK launch of Mini Meals follows a successful rollout in Ireland. It came as “consumers increasingly seek convenient meal options that suit different occasions and appetite sizes”, said Fit Foods’ supplier DMC Foods.

Made without artificial colours or flavourings, the range responded to “changing eating habits due to lifestyle choices or health-related factors, including the growing use of GLP-1 medications”, the supplier added. It would appeal to consumers with “smaller appetites”.

“Consumers are looking for greater flexibility from the food they buy, and the ready meals category is evolving to reflect that,” said Gillian Clarke, marketing director at DMC Foods. “Not every eating occasion calls for a full-sized meal, but people still want food that feels satisfying and worth sitting down for. We are seeing consumers move away from the idea that every meal needs to look the same.”

Fit Foods is not the only ready meal brand to jump on the GLP-1 bandwagon. In April, Gym Kitchen launched a trio of ‘GLP-1 friendly’ chilled dishes in Sainsbury’s
