Jude’s has teamed up with Guinness to launch a chocolate stout cake-inspired ice cream.
The new Chocolate Guinness Cake flavour has rolled out in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Co-op and Ocado (rsp: £5.75/460ml). Jude’s describes it as a “rich chocolate ice cream” made with Guinness and including “chewy chocolate cake pieces”.
The co-branded NPD offers a “new way to enjoy Guinness in the summer”, the brand said.
The ice cream is made in small batches at Jude’s Hampshire site, using fresh cream and Guinness stout.
“For us, ice cream is all about joy, indulgence and trying something different,” said Chow Mezger, director at Jude’s Ice Cream.
“Working with Guinness gave us the chance to celebrate an iconic taste in a completely new way for summer. We’re obsessed with the craft of making truly superb ice cream, and we’ve loved bringing the distinctive flavour of Guinness into something that feels indulgent, unexpected and full of delight.”
Declan Hassett, senior licensing manager at Diageo, added: “Guinness has always been about bringing people together to enjoy life’s simple pleasures and this collaboration with Jude’s captures that perfectly.”
