Tesco is making 60,000 more Christmas delivery slots available this year than last, which will be available to book at the start of November.
Customers with an Anytime Delivery Saver or Click + Collect plan can secure a slot two days earlier than the general release, from 6am on Tuesday, 3 November.
Slots open to all other customers, including Off-Peak Delivery Saver members, from 6am on Thursday, 5 November.
The supermarket is offering free Whoosh rapid delivery as a perk for those signing up to Delivery Saver plans.
Customers that sign up by 18 October will get free Whoosh delivery on orders over £25 until 11 January next year.
“Christmas should be all about spending time with family and friends, not worrying about getting the big shop done,” said Laura Ramsell, Tesco online customer director.
“That’s why we’re making it even easier for customers this year, with tens of thousands more delivery slots available and everything they need for the festive table – including our exciting new Festive Food to Order range.”
The free Whoosh delivery perk will make “those last-minute festive top-ups that little bit easier” Ramsell added.
For the first time, Tesco customers will be able to browse the Festive Food to Order range – made up party platters, turkeys, sides and starters – early and add items to their shopping list from this week, ready to move into baskets when slots open in November.
Yesterday, Waitrose too announced it will offer more online delivery slots than it has ever done before this Christmas, so UK shoppers can “get everything they need for a seamless festive celebration”.
To support the expected high demand from “organised shoppers”, Waitrose is making more than 10,000 additional delivery slots this year for arrival from 20 to 24 December.
“We know how important Christmas is to our food-loving customers, and getting their festive food shop booked early brings real peace of mind,” said Laura Burbedge, director of online for Waitrose.
