Tyrrells has partnered with the upcoming Downton Abbey film to launch a limited-edition crisps variant.
Inspired by the indulgent dining tables of Downton Abbey, Honey Glazed Glorious Gammon crisps (rsp: £2.75/150g) are “rich, savoury and subtly sweet”.
The NPD will launch exclusively in Waitrose on 10 August, ahead of the cinematic release of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale on 12 September.
“Eye-catching” packs feature a photo of the cast of Downton Abbey characters.
As both Downton Abbey and Tyrrells were “quintessentially British”, this was the “perfect partnership to tempt and engage consumers”, said the posh crisps brand.
“We are committed to bringing tasty, unique flavours to the category in the right formats to cater to our consumers’ needs,” Tyrrells marketing manager Amy Heap added.
This is not Tyrrells’ first licensed crisps collaboration. Last summer, it teamed up with Wallace & Gromit to launch limited-edition Wensleydale & Cranberry crisps into Co-op, also playing up its “British provenance”.
Meanwhile, KP Snacks stablemate McCoy’s last month unveiled two limited-edition variants inspired by US cuisine, in partnership with NFL UK & Ireland.
Blazin’ Buffalo Chicken Wings and Secret Burger Sauce have rolled out in multipacks of six (rsp: £2.25/6x25g). The former has hit convenience stores in a £1.35 PMP (65g).
