Hunter & Gather has appointed nutritionist and author Pauline Cox as director of functional nutrition.

Cox has over 20 years’ experience working in health and wellbeing. She has a master’s degree in public health from the University of Bristol.

Cox founded specialty health foods retailer Sow & Arrow in 2018, before publishing her low-carb recipe book, Hungry Woman: Eating for Good Health, Happiness and Hormones, in 2023.

Cox, who joined Hunter & Gather last month, will support its nutritional strategy across product development, education and community engagement.

Her expertise in women’s health, metabolic wellbeing and functional nutrition will shape the brand’s next generation of products, ensuring they are grounded in robust science and designed to support health outcomes.

Cox will also expand Hunter & Gather’s educational output, translating complex nutritional science into clear, practical guidance for consumers.

“Pauline has been a trusted voice in functional nutrition for years and her appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hunter & Gather,” said Hunter & Gather co-founder Jeff Webster.

“Behind the scenes, this brings a new layer of scientific depth to our formulations and content, and a clearer bridge between cutting-edge functional nutrition and everyday application,” Webster added.

Cox said: “Hunter & Gather has always stood for integrity, innovation and a genuine commitment to improving health through real food and evidence-based nutrition.

“I am delighted to be part of a brand that stands for the same principles as I do, seeing functional wellness and natural nutrition as a movement, not a health fad.”
