Zappstore London

London-based rapid delivery firm Zapp has announced a partnership with Deliveroo, the latest tie-up with a major delivery firm it’s announced within a month.

Under the deal, customers will be able to order products from Zapp’s catalogue of 2,500 SKUs via the Deliveroo app. Orders will be processed at the nearest Zapp dark store – known as Zappstores – and delivered by a Deliveroo rider.

“By joining forces with Deliveroo, we can delight even more Londoners with our carefully curated premium catalogue,” said Ajay Lakhwani, chief commercial officer at Zapp.

Zapp currently only operates within areas of London. Billed as a 24/7 delivery service, it stocks a range of groceries – including fine wines and champagne from Daylesford Organic – as well babycare and over the counter medicine from Johnson & Johnson.

Georgie Williams, director of grocery for Deliveroo UK&I, said the partnership enables the firm to offer “wider choice and selection” to central London customers.

It’s the second partnership Zapp has signed with a major delivery app in the space of a month. In November Zapp followed Gopuff in listing its products on Uber Eats. Zapp’s partnership differs because the firm relies on Uber’s network of riders, rather than its own, to ship its orders.

On 17 November, Getir – which recently completed a deal to buy its rival Gorillas – partnered with Just Eat to list its products across Europe.
