Young's has reduced the weight of its frozen wild pink salmon packs by 90g but kept the same rsp.

The company's 450g packs were recently replaced with 360g packs, containing four rather than five fish fillets (rsp: £3.99).

The move comes as this year's catch of Marine Stewardship Council-certified wild pink salmon fell short, driving up the cost of raw materials.

But Young's brand manager Yvonne Adam said the packs had been prompted by a desire to offer more convenient pack sizes with an even number of fillets.
