Tango liquorice Flyers

Confectionery company Maxilin has added Tango-branded sweets to its Flyers range. The Tango Flyers – liquorice tubes filled with Tango orange crystals – are available now in packs of four (rsp 50p).

The launch is part of a two-year licensing deal with Tango-owner Britvic that was agreed last year, and will be followed by a range of Tango-branded lollipops due to launch in the next few months.

The newcomer will join Maxilin’s existing original, blackcurrant and strawberry Flyers on shelf. “I am always on the lookout for products that can maximise the strengths and characteristics of the brands my company represents,” said Ian Downes, who oversees Britvic’s licensing.

Sugar-free Slim Fruits

Australian confectionery company Ferndale is hoping to entice health-conscious Brits with a range of sugar-free sweets it claims will “fill you up, not out”.

Slim Fruits, available now, comes in two variants – rhubarb & strawberry and peach melba. Made with acacia gum, the pastilles contain 40% soluble dietary fibre to create a feeling of fullness, said the company. Made with natural flavours and colours, the range is sugar and gluten-free, and “100% tooth friendly”.
