Welsh syrup producer Clarks has launched ambient chocolate desserts it claims are a first for the UK.
Clarks Indulgent Desserts were unveiled at this week’s Sial exhibition in Paris, and come in chocolate & coffee, chocolate & mint, chocolate & orange and chocolate & salted caramel.
Clarks MD Bob Clark said the range would be rolled out in the new year, and had already attracted “great interest” from airlines, in addition to a big four retailer and food-to-go outlets.
“It will go into production next month,” he said. “We worked with Cardiff University to get chilled quality into the ambient aisles, but with the long-life qualities you get in ambient.”
