A Worcestershire farming family is looking to tap into the booming jacket potato market - and take on ready meals - with the launch of a chilled range of filled spuds.

Juniper Hill Potatoes offers a boxed potato (rsp: £2.99) containing one of six fillings including chilli con carne and vegetable arrabiata.

The potatoes, which can be reheated in five minutes, are grown, cooked and filled on the Gough farm. Retailers had already shown interest in the range, said owner Roger Gough.

Growth in pre-baked potatoes has been fuelled by a frozen range from McCain, which said it had sold £20m in a year. Juniper Hill also offers frozen spuds - in two, four and eight-packs.
