Mars Chocolate is hoping to inspire the CEOs of the future this summer by inviting teenagers into the business for a week.

Working with Business in the Community, Mars staff will spend a week in July showing a group of 14 to 15-year-olds what it is like to work at the company. “It’s as much about inspiring them as instructing them,” said Mars Chocolate UK president Fiona Dawson.

As president of the IGD next year, Dawson plans to make improving the attitudes of young people towards the food industry and work in general a top priority.

“It’s not just about work experience but also creating the mindset for work. So many kids stop even thinking they can get a job,” she said.
