Tesco has agreed to field a speaker at the Federation of Wholesale Distributors' annual conference.
John Burry, Tesco's category director, convenience food, and a former Booker cash and carry buyer, will deliver a presentation on Tesco Express and the value of the convenience sector.
With an inquiry into the convenience store sector, Tesco's takeover of T&S stores recently completed, and two more inquiries looking at bidding for Safeway plus the supermarket's code of practice, Donald Mason of the Office of Fair Trading has been invited to explain how his organisation works.
The conference will held at Celtic Manor near Newport, on April 8.
