Dunbia has built on recent contract wins with Sainsbury’s and The Co-operative Group by buying Scottish fresh and frozen meat supplier Lynch Quality Meats.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Dunbia said it had decided to buy Lynch, which is based in Ayreshire, after becoming sole supplier of Scottish beef, pork and lamb to the two retailers.

“Their recent commitment to source their complete Scottish red meat range from Dunbia highlights that the business model we use in other regions is working to the benefit of all supply chain partners - success we plan to mirror in Scotland,” said sales director Michael Doran.
