Carling has launched an on-pack promotional competition in association with the Premier League and Sky Sports.
The push will run across packs of Carling’s core lager, Carling Premier and Carling Citrus Twist, as well as its Apple and Black Fruits cider SKUs, offering shoppers the chance to bag a number of prizes.
To win, shoppers must download Carling’s Tap app and scan their packs. Prizes include Sky Q packages, HD TVs, Premier League tickets, signed football shirts and Premier League footballs.
The Premier League and Carling went “hand in hand” said Carling brand director Jim Shearer. “Big sporting occasions drive sales of alcohol for the off-trade, so this promotion has the potential to be one of our most successful to date.”
It comes as value sales of the Molson Coors beer brand are up £3.6m (1.1%) to £322.8m over the past year on volumes up 2.8%. Meanwhile, the average price per litre of Carling dropped by approximately 3p to £1.57 [Nielsen 52 w/e 22 April 2017].
