M&S has unveiled its Christmas food ad featuring a festive Ed Sheeran remix and kissing Percy and Penny pigs.

The ad continues the theme of its year-long Spend It Well campaign, with its trademark closeups of food and familiar soundtrack of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You - albeit with a festive remix.

Titled An Extraordinary Christmas, the 40-second execution shows M&S festive produce including Oakham turkey with pork and chestnut stuffing, a hot seafood medley, steak and chips party food and a White Wreath dessert. It cheekily ends with confectionery favourite Percy Pig fiancée kissing ‘fiancée’ Penny Pig under the mistletoe.

The ad by Grey London will air on ITV channels this evening, five days after the launch of its main campaign featuring Paddington Bear.

The food execution will be followed by a second ad called Extraordinary Gifts - concentrating on food for gifting - on 29 November. Both will be supported by social, digital, press, radio and in-store activity.
