Waitrose is marking the Diamond Jubilee with a UK first: British-produced corned beef.

It hopes its British Corned Beef and Tangy Pickle sandwich, launching next month, will encourage younger shoppers to see the retro meat in a new light.

A range of British-made canned corned beef, and corned beef on deli counters, will follow in May.
