Sainsbury’s is shaking up the cooked meats offer on its deli counters with a raft of new and improved products.

From this week, it will roll out improved honey roast hams, which now contain more honey and have a diamond-scored finish, as well as a smoked ham smoked with Scottish whisky barrel oak.

It has also launched a selection of hams on the bone and stores will now apply breadcrumbs to Sainsbury’s Traditional Carvery, Yorkshire and Drury Lane ham in-store. Joints have also changed to make them easier for deli staff to cut.

In the future, it intends to sell more limited-edition hams, such as the London Pride ham sold during the Olympics.
