Howard Prince-Wright said he was ’delighted to join Green Beverages Group at such an exciting time for the business’

Newly formed healthier drinks group Green Beverages has appointed industry veteran Howard Prince-Wright as chairman.

The London-headquartered group was created through a combination between Greek beverage businesses Green Cola and Chitos to pursue ambitious international growth plans.

Prince-Wright brings more than three decades of senior industry experience, including spells as a director at Pepsi-Cola International in the late 1980s and as CFO of Burger King Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the late 1990s when it was owned by Diageo.

More recently, Prince-Wright has held several non-executive director roles outside the fmcg industry and is also currently a director at Belsize Capital, a consultancy firm specialising in networking among investment companies.

The appointment comes as Green Beverages focuses on strengthening the position of its brands in several existing markets, including the UK, Middle East and the US. In recent months, Green Cola has expanded its footprint in the US through a new agreement with Walmart.com and has secured listings in the UK with Sainsbury’s, Amazon and Holland & Barratt via its UK licensee.

CEO Periklis Venieris said: “Howard’s blend of senior financial experience and background working within consumer facing brands makes him a strong fit for Green Beverages Group to help us drive forward our ambition to become one of the world’s leading soft drinks groups.

“I’m excited to work with someone of Howard’s calibre and established track record of delivering value and growth.”

Prince-Wright added: “I’m delighted to join Green Beverages Group at such an exciting time for the business. The group owns an exceptional portfolio of brands, is run by a highly skilled team, and has clear growth potential.

“I look forward to supporting the leadership team to expand the business and realise the group’s significant global opportunities.”
