Sales of the cider brand surged in 2018

Heineken UK has unveiled a new pineapple & raspberry flavour for its Old Mout cider brand.

The drink (4% abv) would tap the growth of “exotic” flavours, said Heineken. It will roll out in 500ml bottles and 10x330ml can multipacks from March. 

The NPD “reflects current market trends and we have the consumer taste tests to back it up”, said Heineken cider director Emma Sherwood-Smith. “In fact, it received the second-highest score in the history of Heineken UK.”

Sales of Old Mout surged last year, buoyed by Heineken’s return to Tesco, the World Cup and the hot summer. Its value grew 11.8% over the 52 weeks to 8 September 2018 [Nielsen].
