Free-from brand Rude Health has launched its second HFSS-compliant cereal for children.

Organic Choco Vanilla Puffs (rsp: £3.25/175g) is a blend of eight ingredients, including puffed wheat, puffed rice, dark chocolate and vanilla extract.

Packed in a 100% recyclable box made from over 80% renewable materials, it will sit alongside the brand’s Honey Spelt Puff.

The new line, which is available from Waitrose and Ocado, provides 15g of sugar per 100g. It was developed to “make a cereal that helps make the healthy choice a celebration, not a sacrifice”, said Bertel Haugen, Rude Health’s head of innovation.

“We made this delicious kids’ cereal for the whole family to enjoy using natural, whole ingredients,” he added. “Being HFSS-compliant, it is markedly different from the other syrup-stuffed cereals on the market while also providing a source of fibre to support digestive health via toasted puffed wheat and rice.”

It comes after Rude Health’s April launch of Barista Coconut, a coconut-based milk alternative, amid a revamp for the brand’s three established drink lines to enhance taste, creaminess and functionality.
