DCS Group has expanded its fleet in partnership with XPO Logistics as it looks to grow the business.
The leading distributor and manufacturer of household, health & beauty and grocery brands in the UK has added eight new vehicles to its fleet, including newly liveried trailers. Four more are expected to be put into service in the coming months.
These will add to the current fleet, which complete an average of 150 deliveries a week from the company’s main 26-acre distribution centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
DCS Group said the extension of the partnership with XPO Logistics will help it to innovate, grow, and exceed service expectations.
Powered by XPO Logistics’ Transport Management System (TMS), which provides enhanced tracking, DCS Group and XPO Logistics are also aiming to improve visibility and build a more sustainable logistics platform.
“DCS Group is a growth business, expanding into new markets, channels, and services,” said DCS Group COO Carl Palmer.
“XPO Logistics has proven to be a true strategic partner, adapting alongside us, investing in innovation and helping us uphold the high service standards our customers expect. Their ability to simplify logistics while enhancing outcomes is key to our continued success.”
XPO Logistics UK&I MD Dan Myers said: “We’re two businesses working as one team. What we are achieving together is textbook partnership, supporting not only day-to-day execution but also the ambitions for growth and transformation.
“Our relationship is rooted in shared values and a laser-focus on the customer. Together, we’re building a supply chain that evolves with the needs of our number one stakeholder, the customer.”
The move comes as DCS Group recently announced the launch of a new food division, backed by an £8m investment in expanding its Banbury headquarters.
The new food division secured strategic partnerships with General Mills and Unilever Foods, transitioning key contracts previously managed by SHS Group.
